There is much discussion, but the change from internal combustion engines to electromobility is proceeding slowly. The demand for electric cars &#8211; at least in this country &#8211; is currently still low. In addition to the short range and high price, too few charging points and the duration of the charging process are deterrent factors. Accordingly, the majority will also opt for a classic drive system when they next buy a car.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all the current scepticism about electromobility among consumers, it remains undisputed that mobility behavior must change for reasons of climate protection. Sustainable mobility concepts have an important role to play in combating climate change. Electromobility is regarded as a central key technology.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion of the WEC Austria Workshop &#8220;Electric mobility in the field of tension between tradition and innovation&#8221;, we took up this multifaceted debate with a large number of guests at the EVN-Forum on February 18th, 2020.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 1610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wec-austria.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG-20200218-WA0000.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1200\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><em>WEC Austria Workshop &#8220;Electric mobility in the field of tension between tradition and innovation&#8221; from February 18th, 2020 at the EVN-Forum, EVN-Platz 1, 2344 Maria Enzersdorf.<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Mag. Stefan Szyszkowitz<\/strong>, MBA, Chairman of the Board (EVN) and Secretary General Dr. Robert Kobau (WEC Austria) welcomed<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mrs. MMag. Ute Teufelberger<\/strong>, Federal Association for Electric Mobility Austria (BE\u00d6),<\/li>\n<li><strong>Univ.-Prof. Dr. <\/strong><strong>G\u00fcnther Brauner<\/strong>, Vienna University of Technology,<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Herbert Greisberger<\/strong>, Energy and Environment Agency of Lower Austria (ENU),<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ing. Ren\u00e9 List<\/strong>, ASFINAG and<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dipl.Ing. (FH) Kurt Portschy<\/strong>, ASFINAG.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The workshop was hosted by <strong>Mr.\u00a0G\u00fcnther Brauner<\/strong>, Vienna University of Technology.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop revealed that there is not just one obstacle to electromobility, but that many factors are currently still dampening the ramp-up of electromobility.
