NextEnergy Forum 2026

Access to Energy, Mobility, and the Services of the Future
A successful afternoon filled with inspiring insights, in-depth discussions, and valuable encounters is now behind us: On September 29, 2026, the World Energy Council Austria’s NextEnergy Forum 2026 took place in Graz.
🚆 Under the guiding theme of NextAccess, the forum explored how access to energy, mobility, and the services of the future is changing in an increasingly digitalised and decarbonised world. Key topics included innovative energy hubs and neighbourhood solutions, resilient energy and data networks, sustainable mobility, and issues surrounding security, data protection, and security of supply.
🔋 The interdisciplinary exchange between representatives from the energy sector, mobility, infrastructure, digitalisation, real estate, and academia was particularly valuable. The discussions made it clear that the transformation of the energy system must be approached holistically—and that energy, mobility, data, and infrastructure are becoming increasingly interconnected.
A very special thank you goes to Energie Steiermark AG for its wonderful hospitality and for providing the ideal setting for this forward-looking dialogue. We would also like to thank all the speakers, panellists, partners, and participants whose expertise and perspectives contributed to the success of the forum.
Our thanks also go to The Club of Rome – Austrian Chapter for the partnership and for sharing our commitment to exploring the challenges and opportunities of this transformation.
💡 The future of energy and mobility takes shape where diverse perspectives come together, and ideas are developed collaboratively. Once again, the NextEnergy Forum 2026 provided the ideal platform for this exchange.
Special thanks go to Werner Ressi, Gudrun Senk, Reinhold Lang, Ivo Wakounig, Stefan Schleicher, and all the panellists who helped shape this forum!
