YEP closing event at the Sir Karl Popper School

On 20 May 2025, we celebrated the inspiring conclusion of the Energy Education Working Group as part of the 4th cycle of the Young Energy Professionals (YEP) programme at the Sir Karl Popper School in Vienna-Wieden.

The working group consisted of:

• Sebastian Zimak

The event provided an opportunity for reflection, exchange and future perspectives. Particularly impressive was the presentation by the Energy Education Working Group, which provided exciting insights into its experiences with school classes in teaching energy topics.

Two high-profile keynotes by Irene Giner-Reichl and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Schleicher provided valuable insights into the future of energy, education and social change. The contributions from the school management also underlined the importance of cooperation between schools and initiatives such as YEP in making energy transformation tangible from the perspective of young people.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this project over the past two years with their commitment, expertise and passion!

A special highlight was the interactive testing of the educational programme with VR glasses, which was not only fun but also showed what innovative teaching formats can look like.
