Field Trip to the Ebensee Pumped-Storage Power Plant

An exciting day with the YEPs (Young Energy Professionals) of the World Energy Council Austria and Oesterreichs Energie at Energie AG OÖ’s pumped-storage hydropower plant in Ebensee.
The visit impressively demonstrated the important role pumped-storage hydropower plants play in ensuring a flexible and stable energy system. Particularly interesting was the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the progress of construction work, including a guided tour of the future waterways and the large underground cavern.
A heartfelt thank you to Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Alexander Kirchner and his entire technical team, who gave us a fascinating presentation on the plant’s development history and how it will operate in the future.
The open dialogue among participants and experts from different fields makes visits like this particularly valuable. Exchanging experiences and perspectives, and discussing the role of innovative facilities such as the Ebensee pumped-storage power plant in the energy transition is invaluable if we want to shape the future of energy together. 🌍🔋
Many thanks to Energie AG OÖ for these fascinating insights, on behalf of the YEPs of the World Energy Council Austria and Oesterreichs Energie!
