Austria was represented by a top-class 23-member delegation consisting of industry representatives from business and science as well as representatives of international energy organisations based in Vienna.

Dr. Robert Kobau, Secretary General of WEC Austria: “The energy system transformation can only succeed if it is thought globally and holistically and discussed on an international scale. Ongoing international cooperation is essential for this. In this context, the World Energy Congress is of enormous importance for the exchange of knowledge.

At the end of the event, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Nowak invited all participants to the next World Energy Congress to be held in St. Petersburg in 2022.
